Meet Levi
Levi is a happy, smiley three-year-old who loves music, books, being outdoors, and spending time with his big brother, Rhett. He lives in Overland Park, Kansas, with his mom, Shanna; dad, Ethan; Rhett; and their dog, Koda. Whether he’s playing with a musical toy, snuggling on the porch, or enjoying a long wheelchair walk, Levi brings joy to those around him.
A severe brain injury caused by a lack of oxygen during birth left Levi with complex medical needs, including cerebral palsy and dystonia. He receives all his nutrition through a feeding tube and is nonverbal—but he has plenty to say. He loves to “sing” and chat when he’s excited and has recently started exploring an eye-gaze device to help him communicate.
Levi attends preschool and participates in therapies most days. From taking steps in his gait trainer to swimming in aqua therapy and practicing standing, he works hard and embraces new challenges. His experiences have also included music therapy, hippotherapy with horses, and intensive therapy programs.
One of Levi’s favorite people is Rhett, who is always finding creative ways to include his little brother. Their bond reflects something Levi has taught his entire family: connection and love don’t require words, and everyone deserves opportunities to participate.
Life with complex medical needs brings challenges, including navigating a world that isn’t always accessible. Through it all, Levi continues to grow, explore, and share his joy. His family is grateful for every opportunity to watch him thrive, and Callum Cares is honored to be part of his community of support.
Voice of Hope
“Our hope is that partnering with Callum Cares will help Levi access the equipment and resources he needs to keep exploring, communicating, and doing the things he loves. We dream of a world where he can participate alongside his brother and friends, with the support he needs to feel included.”
Levi’s mom, Shanna
